Which level will you be in?

Why does placement level matter?

We want you to succeed in your English language learning! But if you are not in the right class for your level, it makes it hard not only for you, but for your fellow students, and also for your teachers.

The first assessment: your own self-assessment

We what to start by finding out your own sense of your English language abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. So part of our English class registration form asks you to give us an honest self-assessment of your English abilities.

Our main assessment

You may already have a good sense of what level you are on. But all of us have differences in our level across the 4 language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing). And not all programs and levels are the same. So, even if you are a beginner, we will need to test you. Because we are changing books and assessment tests, our advanced level students will also need to be re-assessed.

After registration, we will give you our main assessment test in order to determine what class you will be placed in. It is 90 minutes long and tests all 4 language skills. You would schedule a time with us to come to our office to do this in person. We are sorry to say that we are not able to accept unscheduled assessment appointments (we may be in a meeting already).

$10 gift card

For a limited time, we are “testing our tests.” This means we are working hard to make sure the tests we use are accurate and effective. If you are willing to help us do this, we’ll give you a $10 gift card to Korger or Amazon. Here’s how: in addition to the 90 minute test, you would take an additional 60 minutes of testing and questions. If you need to schedule the additional assessments at a different time, that’s fine.
