English class child care registration

We care for you and your child

We know that some parents are not able to attend our English class unless they have help with their children at that time. Because we want to remove every barrier we can, we try to offer child care while you are attending our English classes.

Sometimes this is done by volunteers and sometimes by staff that we pay for or someone donates the money for.

Whether paid staff or volunteers, we ensure that our child care team has received safety training and a clean background check.

Here is how:

Register your child in our system.

In order to have the best experience for yourself, your child, and the students and volunteers in our English classes, we will need your help and cooperation to fill out the form below.

We hope that the questions below do not sound too detailed. We ask them because we want to do the best we can to care for you and your child while you are learning English with us.

About you

Name*
It needs to have the ability to text you in class if necessary. We are sorry, but a WhatsApp number is not enough since it requires a data connection, and we cannot guarantee strong wifi in your classroom.
Which school are you attending?*
This does not commit you to coming and it does not commit you to bringing your child. But it does give the school leadership at these schools your child's information so that you will be able to use the child care during that time of day.

About your child

How many children do you have that you may need childcare for during English class?
Please enter a number from 1 to 4.
Child info*
Please click the "+" to add a new line for each child.
Family name
Given name
Date of birth
Gender

Does your child/children have any allergies?*
For example, a peanut allergy.
To help our volunteers communicate with your child/children, please tell us each child's experience with English. For example: is there anyone they speak English with regularly? If not, are there any English words they know?

Our child care policies

No children in class*
Language learning takes a lot of concentration. We have learned from experience that a child in class lowers the ability of the parent and others students to concentrate. Additionally, the teachers have worked hard to make a productive learning environment for all the students. So for the sake of the students and the teachers, we do not normally allow children in class. If you have a very quiet, small infant, we may be able to grant an exception. You will need to talk with the English School Director to get permission. Do you understand and agree to this?
Snacks*
We do not currently provide snacks during our child care. Please ensure your child is fed before class starts. If necessary, you may provide a snack for him/her when you check them in to child care. If you do this, please ensure there are no nuts in the snack (in case other children have allergies). We also suggest (though we do not require) that you try not to visit your child during class break since even the break time is for your English learning benefit. Do you understand and agree to this?
Medication*
In order to avoid confusion, our volunteers do not administer medication. Do you understand and agree to this?
Diapers and bathroom*
To try and accomodate the needs of you and your child and our volunteers, our volunteers will rely on you to help your child with the bathroom. If your child needs a diaper change, our volunteer will let you know so that you can change it. And if your child is able to go to the bathroom on his or her own, a female volunteer may send the child to the bathroom on their own or may accompany the child to the bathroom and listen at the door of the bathroom to make sure the child is ok. If the child needs help, the child care worker will get you from class. So, if your child is in diapers, please change their diaper before bringing them. If your child can go to the bathroom on their own, please have them go to the bathroom before you bring them. Do you understand and agree to this?
Volunteer's decision*
In order to help all our students, teachers, volunteers, and other children in child care, our volunteers may need to come get you during class if they are not able to meet your child's needs. The child care volunteers may also decline to care for any child they do not feel they can properly care for. This is not discrimination, but is for the well-being of everyone involved. Do you understand and agree to this?
Must stay on the property*
We are not able to offer child care unless you (the parent or legal guardian) remain on the property during this time. In other words, you are not allowed to leave the property unless you take your child with you. Do you understand and agree to this?
Do we have permission to administer life-saving efforts in the event of an emergency?*
The probability of this is very low, especially since you will be right down the hall in English class. But we ask just in order to be safe.
Picking up your child*
For the protection of your child, we only allow you to pick them up from child care. This means that even someone who says they are a relative or friend is not allowed to pick up your child. But this should not be a problem since you'll be near by in class. Do you understand and agree to this?
This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
