Oktoberfest (Fort Gordon Int’l Students only)

Please be our guest in the home of an Augusta resident for their annual Oktoberfest Dinner. Each year as part of their heritage, this LINK volunteer family enjoys a traditional German dinner that many others throughout the world will also enjoy as they celebrate Oktoberfest.

Space is limited to the first 14 international military students who register for this free event before the deadline of September 17. For social distancing, there are several tables inside as well as on the patio outside.

Rides from the fort available at 4:00pm. Please meet in the lobby of Candlewood Suites.

MENU:

German Goulash (Traditional, German Stew with tender chunks of Beef, Potatoes, Carrots, Onions and Spices in a rich Hungarian sauce)
Spaetzel (Small Home made, Noodle-like Dumplings)
Schnitzel (Thin slice of Pork, breaded and fried)

Warm Potato Salad with Bacon (also without)

Blaukraut (Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage)

Gurkensalat (Cucumber and Onion Salad in a Sour Cream Dressing)
Bauernbrot (Traditional German Rolls) and Black Rye Bread

German Chocolate Cheesecake (A Dense Creamy Cheesecake with a Chocolate Cookie Crust, layered and topped with a coconut and walnut filling.

Black Forest Cake (Sponge Cake brushed with Cherry Juice, layered with Buttercream, Whipping cream, Dark Cherry Compote

Apple Strudel Fresh Apples, Walnuts, Spices and Raisins baked in a Flaky Crust, served with Chantilly Cream
